Job Description:

Demonstrate and instruct athletic, fitness or sports activities and techniques

Schedule activities

Supervise staff

Train staff

Ensure safety of rescuers and victims at accident scenes

Assist with coordination of recreational, sport and fitness events

Lead groups and individuals in recreational or leisure programs

Plan and carry out recreational, fitness and sports activities

Maintain and repair sports equipment

Prepare reports

Understand principles of group dynamics

Leading/instructing groups

Leading/instructing individuals

Provide lifestyle awareness information

Conduct therapeutic recreational or athletic activities

Assist clients/guests with special needs

Ensure health and safety regulations are followed

Assemble supplies, sports and game equipment

Monitor recreational, sports or fitness activities to ensure safety and provide emergency or first aid assistance when required
Job Requirements:
Requirements

Education: Completion of secondary education is required

Experience: At least 3 years of experience as a Judo Instructor are required. If the candidate does not have at least 3 years of experience, then the completion of a college program in recreation or physical education is required.

Experience working with children is an asset

Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: National Coaching Certification Program Dojo Instructor certificate and Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 1 are required

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, Work under pressure, Repetitive tasks, Physically demanding, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Standing for extended periods.

Language: English is required

Weight handling: Maximum 60 Kg

Ability to supervise at least 4 people

Salary: 36.60 hourly, 40 hours per week.

Important Information: The worker will work from Monday to Saturday, in 7 to 8-hour shifts scheduled between 10:30 am to 10:00 pm. Flexibility in the schedule is required. During the kid’s camp, the schedule is Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 4:00pm. The regular shifts are as follows:

Monday: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Tuesday: 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM

Wednesday: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Thursday: 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM

Friday: 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Saturday: 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM
