Job duties
Adhere to and exemplify the company's core values
Read and interpret blueprints ensuring the correct installation and welding of steel components
Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using SMAW and FCAW
Assist crews with the erection and installation of structural / ornamental steel
Perform re-constructive work on existing structures
Follow safe work practices and procedures
Participate in company safety meetings
Ensure PPE/ Equipment inspections are complete as per company policy
Mentor new employees and apprentices to develop tradesman with high standards for safety, quality and production
Assign tasks and oversee the work of one or more apprentice welders as directed by the site foreman
Motivate self and other team members to maintain crew production
Promote a harassment free respectful work environment
Maintain high standards of housekeeping

The work is physically strenuous and often hazardous
This position often works at great heights and must rely on one another to use good judgment as well as safety equipment and procedures to reduce the risk of injury from falling or from falling objects
Adverse weather conditions such as rain, snow or high winds can shut down projects or change schedules for days at a time
Shift work and overtime is often required
