Job Summary
The Inventory Control Supervisor oversees daily inventory operations, ensures accuracy of all stock records, and leads the team responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials. The role maintains inventory integrity, resolves discrepancies, and supports efficient warehouse operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Supervise inventory clerks and warehouse staff, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing training.
• Coordinate and oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and products.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP or warehouse management software; ensure all stock movements are updated.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventory audits; investigate and correct discrepancies.
• Implement and enforce inventory control procedures to reduce shrinkage, loss, and operational errors.
• Monitor inventory levels and prepare replenishment recommendations based on usage trends and forecasts.
• Review incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy, quality, and compliance with company standards.
• Prepare daily and weekly inventory reports, including stock status, variances, and turnover metrics.
• Resolve operational issues such as damaged goods, mis-shipments, or stock mismatches.
• Coordinate with purchasing, logistics, and suppliers to address shortages, backorders, and delivery delays.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, WHMIS, and health & safety standards.
• Recommend process improvements to optimize inventory accuracy and warehouse efficiency.
Requirements
Education:
• Completion of secondary school required.
• Postsecondary education in supply chain, logistics, business, or a related field is an asset.
Experience:
• Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or logistics.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
Skills:
• Strong leadership and team supervision abilities.
• Solid knowledge of inventory control methods, stock rotation, and auditing procedures.
• Proficiency with inventory software, ERP systems, or warehouse management tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift materials as required and follow safety protocols.
