Waubonsee Community College seeks a full-time, tenure-track Instructor/Program Coordinator of Human Services. The primary teaching assignments are in the HSV curriculum with special emphasis on the CADC certification program courses. These courses are foundational to the Illinois Certification Board accreditation designation. The Instructor of Human Services should have a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence, diversity, and holistic student success. As Program Coordinator, will be responsible for managing the ICB accreditation process, the oversight of field experiences and maintaining relationships with advisory groups.

Duties and expectations of this position include, but are not limited to:

Collaborate with Dean and Assistant Dean (if applicable) in providing leadership for the curriculum and program development, student recruitment and retention, and ensure that students successfully meet the course objectives and outcomes.

Work collaboratively with professional colleagues to serve the needs of students and the community.

Model professionalism with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Incorporate learning-centered principles and concepts and motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational experience.

Teaching assignments may include days, evenings and/or weekends at four campuses throughout the district - Sugar Grove, Aurora Downtown, Aurora Fox Valley, and Plano. Instructional modalities may include in-person, online, and hybrid/flexible delivery options.


Minimum Qualifications


Master's degree in Human Services, Counseling, Social Work, or related field is required.

Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association (IAODAPCA) certification required.


Minimum of 5 years experience in the Alcohol and Other Drug field is required for the Program Coordinator. Minimum of 2 years experience in the AOD field for Faculty.


Preferred Qualifications

An interdisciplinary focus integrating innovative learning strategies and demonstrated ability to enhance the success of diverse student populations is essential.

Experience incorporating technology and multimedia applications into the teaching and learning process and interest in all forms of alternative learning are highly desirable.

Teaching experience at the vocational/technical, or community college level.
