JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Inspector I tests and inspects in process materials as well as finished product.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Test, inspect, package and label in process and finished products as designated.
* Perform visual inspection as per customer requirement and/or per Nordson MEDICAL standard.
* Communicate (if any) required adjustment to production operators and supervisor based on measurement tests and visual inspection results.
* Document inspection results into quality database according to procedures and work instructions.
* Perform Melt Flow testing as designated.
* Test and inspect incoming raw materials as designated.
* Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions, report any non-working or out of calibration equipment to Quality supervision or compliance coordinator.
* Assist with training for new and/or existing Quality Inspectors.
* Perform other duties as required by quality management including but not limited to rework, filing, special testing etc. Verify labels and documentation as designated.
* Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
* High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
* Ability to read and document required specs and measurements.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
* Experience in Quality System Management, preferred.
* Experience in manual and computer-based documentation control and development.
* Ability to communicate well in person, in writing, and by telephone with customers and other company personnel.
* Ability to read small print and to see at normal distances.
* Ability to write clearly and legibly.
