Job Description:
• Develop and optimize Automated Optical Inspection (“AOI”) recipes for new models and processes;
• Tune 2D and 3D AOI algorithms and improve overkill and missed detection rates;
• Perform equipment setup, calibration, operation, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance for AOI systems;
• Analyze AOI inspection data and classify defect patterns;
• Manage the Vision Management System (“VMS”) and analyze inspection results to support accurate defect judgment;
• Conduct root cause analysis of defects and propose corrective actions to improve inspection performance and yield;
• Support yield improvement through analysis of inspection results, defect trends, and process conditions;
• Collaborate with process engineers, equipment teams, and quality assurance teams to improve defect rates and manufacturing efficiency;
• Monitor and improve key AOI metrics, including uptime and cycle time;
• Support automation and intelligent inspection solutions to enhance productivity and equipment efficiency;
• Participate in the evaluation and qualification of new AOI tools;
• Develop VMS capabilities using artificial intelligence (“AI”) to improve inspection performance and defect analysis;
• Manage metrology and measurement processes to ensure inspection accuracy and reliability;
• Manage In-Plant Performance (“IPP”) processes and related inspection activities to ensure process control and inspection reliability;
• Develop new inspection technologies for new products and processes;
• Prepare inspection standards, Standard Operating Procedures (“SOPs”), and issue reports; and
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams regarding inspection, defect analysis, and process improvement.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or other closely related fields of study;
• At least three (3) years of hands-on experience with automated optical inspection (“AOI”) systems, including AOI parameter tuning and defect analysis;
• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing processes and automated inspection systems;
• Experience in Surface Mount Technology (“SMT”), semiconductor, or display manufacturing processes, with proficiency in data analysis and basic statistical methods; and
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in root cause analysis and process optimization.
