Industrial Electrician Job

Fiera Foods is a privately owned Canadian food manufacturer that has been producing premium-quality bakery products since 1982. Operating advanced manufacturing facilities in Toronto, the company supplies food service and retail customers across Canada and international markets. Its operations rely on sophisticated automated production lines, freezing technology, and high-volume manufacturing equipment to ensure consistent product quality and efficiency.

We are seeking experienced Industrial Electricians to join our Maintenance Department. The successful candidates will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and testing industrial electrical systems, equipment, and components in a high-volume food manufacturing environment. The position requires strong technical knowledge of industrial electrical systems, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, 24/7 production facility.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Review electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications when installing, modifying, or troubleshooting production equipment.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, conduits, feeders, control panels, lighting, and other electrical components throughout the manufacturing facility.
• Use electrical testing instruments to check voltage, current, resistance, continuity, and proper operation of electrical equipment.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair transformers, switchgear, switchboards, meters, regulators, and other electrical distribution equipment.
• Install, maintain, and repair motors, generators, industrial batteries, and electrical controls associated with production machinery.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and electronic control problems affecting automated production lines and manufacturing equipment.
• Perform scheduled and preventive electrical maintenance to reduce equipment failures and production downtime.
• Maintain and calibrate sensors, instrumentation, and related control devices used in automated production processes.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and equipment issues as required.
• Ensure all electrical work is completed safely and in accordance with applicable electrical codes, company procedures, and workplace safety requirements.

Requirements of Position:
• Secondary School Diploma
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Electrical Mechanic or in a similar role
• Profound knowledge of electrical industrial machinery installation and troubleshooting
• Good English language skills

Compensation & Work Schedule:
• $37 per hour
• Benefits: Group Medical and Dental Plan.
• Minimum 30-hour work week. Rotating day and night shifts, including weekends. Shifts are generally 10 to 12 hours in length, with approximately 3–4 shifts per week, depending on the rotation. Shift lengths vary according to the established rotation based on the production schedule and operational needs. Overtime may be required when operationally necessary.
• Overtime pay will apply after 44 hours of work per week
