is in need of Industrial Butcher
NOC Code: 94141
Employment Terms: Full Time – Permanent
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Slaughter livestock and remove viscera and other inedible parts from carcasses;
2. Skin, clean and trim carcasses.
3. Remove bones from meat.
4. Cut lamb or pork carcasses or sides or quarters of carcasses into primal cuts for further cutting, processing or packaging.
5. Cut meat into specific cuts for institutional, commercial or other wholesale use.
6. Sharpen and adjust knives and cutting equipment.
7. Clean equipment and work areas as necessary.
8. Follow company health and safety procedures and maintain compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
9. Perform other related duties as required.
Employment Requirements:
1. Education: Completion of secondary school education is required.
2. Work Experience: A minimum of six (6) months related work experience is required. Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided to the successful candidate to ensure they are fully familiar with the company's procedures, quality standards, and safe work practices.
3. Must have basic working English skills
4. Ability to accurately work at production line speed
5. Ability to work in a Cold Environment where one will be standing for extended periods.
6. Ability to physically push, pull, and lift to 50 lbs.
7. Ability to work effectively and efficiently as a team member.
8. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Working Hours: 8 hour/day, 40 hours/week; 2 days off on weekends
Wage/Benefits: $23.76 - $26.17/hour / Health Care Plan, Financial Bonuses, $500 bonus for perfect attendance throughout the year, Bi-weekly perfect attendance bonus of $40.00 after successful completion of sixty (60) days worked. RRSP contribution plan after one (1) year of continuous employment, Unionized working environment.
