Job Description:
The Role

We are seeking a full-time In-House Paralegal to join our team and provide client-facing support in federal and state Medicaid matters. This is not a back-office paperwork role — it’s a dynamic position where you will build relationships with clients, help them navigate Medicaid rules, and guide them in collecting required verification documents such as bank statements, life insurance policies, deeds, and other assets.

In addition to working directly with nursing homes and families, you will also have opportunities to collaborate with our affiliated elder law firm on select matters, gaining exposure to an elite legal practice alongside your paralegal consulting responsibilities.
This role blends paralegal expertise with client consulting and case management. You’ll work directly with attorneys, nursing homes, and families while becoming an expert in Medicaid and elder law — a highly specialized and in-demand field.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for clients on Medicaid laws, rules, and policies.

Conduct client consultations via phone, video calls, and in-person meetings (local travel required; mileage reimbursed).

Help clients and facilities understand verification requirements and assist in gathering supporting documentation.

Collaborate with nursing homes, elder law attorneys, and families to advance cases toward approval.

Provide clear, professional communication to clients — explaining complex Medicaid rules in a way that’s easy to understand.

Support internal teams by translating client needs into actionable steps within our software.

Maintain accurate records of client interactions and case progress.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications

Paralegal certificate or equivalent professional experience in a client-facing legal, consulting, financial services, or healthcare environment.

Strong client-facing and communication skills — comfortable on video calls, phone, and in-person meetings. Willing to steer meetings as needed.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work with clients under pressure, and overcome obstacles with diplomacy.

Organized, detail-oriented, and able to interpret state and federal Medicaid regulations.

Proficiency with common software tools (Google suite, tools for chat and document management, case management or CRM systems. etc).

Preferred but not required: Experience in sales or other roles requiring frequent negotiation and persuasion.
