Position requires enlistment into the Michigan Army National Guard with minimum contract of 3 years!
OVERVIEW
A Human Resources Specialist is responsible for providing support that affects Soldiers' overall welfare and well-being while assisting leaders with keeping Soldiers combat-ready and effective.
JOB DUTIES
Assist on all human resource support matters
Oversee all strength management and strength distribution actions
Be responsible for the readiness, health and welfare of all Soldiers
Provide postal and personnel accountability support
Maintain emergency notification data
TRAINING
Job training for a Human Resources Specialist requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and nine weeks of Advanced Individual Training at Fort Jackson, SC with on-the-job instructions on human resource systems. Part of this time is spent in the classroom, and part takes place in the field.
Additional training opportunities will be available based on the type of unit you are assigned to, including (but not limited to) postal operations, or Airborne or Air Assault School.
HELPFUL SKILLS
Aptitude for English and business administration
Ability to follow detailed orders
Sound people skills

Legal US citizen
Have a High School diploma or GED
No serious medical conditions that would prevent you from serving
Be physically fit to pass a fitness test
No felonies
No offensive tattoos
No job experience required!
How to Join:
1st Step: Contact your local recruiter. Call or text SSG Poirier at 517-730-4282. Let him know you're interested in getting more information about your options. Set up an appointment with him.
2nd Step: Take the ASVAB. This is a general English and math placement test. (high school level content)
3rd Step: Choose an MOS. This is where you would pick the job you wish to do.
4th Step: Go to MEPS. This is where you would get a medical exam proving that you're
eligible to serve.
5th Step: Sign your contract! (3 year minimum, 6 years to get incentives)
6th Step: Attend RSP drills until you leave for Basic Training. (one weekend a month)
7th Step: Go to (paid) Basic Training! (this is just basic soldiering training.)
8th Step: Go to (paid) Job Training! (this is to get qualified for the job you selected in
step 3)
9th Step: You have graduated training, and are now drilling at the unit near your house
(in the job you selected) one weekend a month!

$50,000 student loan repayments
State and Federal Tuition Assistance- $18,400 per year Scholarships
