Job Description:
Need candidates with the following requirements:
Minimum 5 years in Human Resources within construction or manufacturing industries, preferably unionized construction materials supply.
Domain Expertise: Strong knowledge of California employment law, HR compliance, labor relations including Collective Bargaining Agreements, benefits administration, and HRIS systems.
Market Experience: Familiarity with California labor regulations and employment law is required to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.

5+ years HR experience preferably in construction or manufacturing companies; experience in unionized environments with collective bargaining agreements

5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience including full-cycle recruiting, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance in California; experience working in unionized construction or manufacturing environments with collective bargaining agreements; demonstrated involvement in HR integration during mergers or acquisitions.

Education:
Average tenure of 3+ years per role in HR positions
Associate degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
Equivalent work experience in HR (5+ years) accepted in lieu of degree

Tools :
1. Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS): Intermediate proficiency in construction-focused HRIS platforms such as Miter, Arcoro, or Empivo for managing employee data, onboarding, compliance, and time tracking.
2. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems: Basic to intermediate experience with ERP systems integrating HR functions
3. Employee Engagement Tools: Familiarity with employee engagement and self-service portals within HRIS platforms to support communication, surveys, and performance management.

Managerial experience:
Candidates with some supervisory or team lead experience in HR, ideally 1-3 years managing small teams or projects; managerial experience is not explicitly required but may enhance candidacy

Skills:
1. Employee relations management including conflict resolution and workplace issue investigation
2. Knowledge of California employment laws, HR compliance, and labor relations in unionized construction environments
3. Full-cycle recruiting including job posting, interviewing, onboarding, and exit processes

Certifications & Licenses :
1. Possession of professional HR certification such as SHRM-CP, PHR, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or PHRca.
2. Certification should demonstrate knowledge of California employment laws and HR best practices.
3. Certification preferred but not mandatory; enhances candidacy for HR Generalist roles in construction industry.

Location : Work location: Chico, California,
Onsite 5 days per week.

Preferred : Chico, Oroville, Paradise, Gridley, Durham (all within 15-30 minutes driving commute).
Commute to worksite: Recommend a maximum daily commute of 30 minutes driving;
longer commutes are impractical due to 5-day onsite requirement and modest salary range.

Relocation: Relocation is a significant hurdle as no assistance is offered, and the role requires onsite presence with modest compensation and no remote option
