Possess a verified and clear professional degree or qualification in pharmacy at the minimum level of a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy (or higher, such as a Doctor of Pharmacy – Pharm.D.) from a recognized educational institution.
Licensed or registered as a Pharmacist in at least one jurisdiction, demonstrating legal authorization to practice pharmacy, with additional training or endorsement in sterile and non-sterile compounding where applicable.
Completion of formal training, internship, residency, or supervised clinical/laboratory experience in pharmaceutical compounding (often including practical application in compounding pharmacies, hospital pharmacies, or specialized compounding facilities).
Relevant professional certifications in compounding or related areas are preferred, such as those from internationally recognized bodies (e.g., Certified Compounding Pharmacist, Sterile Compounding Certification, Non-Sterile Compounding Certification, or equivalent national/international credentials in pharmaceutical compounding).
Previous experience providing compounding pharmacist services, including preparation of customized medications (sterile and non-sterile), formulation development, quality control and assurance, stability testing, patient-specific dosing adjustments, allergy-friendly or alternative dosage forms, hormone replacement therapy compounding, pain management formulations, and collaboration with prescribers and healthcare teams to meet unique therapeutic needs while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards (in-person or telehealth consultation where appropriate).
