Job Description:
- Conduct regular inspections of plant material across multiple sites to assess health conditions and identify pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies.
- Diagnose plant health issues and implement appropriate treatment plans using horticultural best practices and site-specific analysis.
- Execute and adjust plant care programs, including pruning, fertilization, soil amendments, and integrated pest management (IPM).
- Monitor plant performance and recovery, making timely adjustments based on seasonal variations, weather conditions,
and site factors.
- Perform soil sampling and analysis, recommending and applying soil improvement strategies to optimize plant growth.
- Evaluate irrigation systems, identify inefficiencies, and implement corrective measures to improve water management and plant health.
- Support landscape planning and planting layout by assessing environmental factors such as soil, drainage, and sun exposure.
- Manage assigned sites independently, prioritizing tasks and making informed decisions to maintain optimal landscape
performance.
- Collect, record, and analyze horticultural data to support reporting, operational improvements, and long-term
sustainability.
- Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other treatments in compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Provide technical guidance and quality oversight to staff, ensuring adherence to company standards and horticultural best practices.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards and environmental regulations.

Job Requirements:
- Graduate of a post-secondary program with a Horticulture Technician Diploma
- 2–4 years of experience in the horticulture, gardening, or landscape maintenance field
- Strong knowledge of plant identification, plant health care, pruning practices, and seasonal garden maintenance
- Working knowledge of planting design and landscape design principles
- Ability to read, understand, and work from landscape drawings and planting layouts
- Ability to safely operate a truck and trailer
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (minimum G2)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high quality work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively throughout the workday
- Professional attitude, positive work ethic, and willingness to learn and grow within the company
- Physically capable of lifting heavy materials, working on your feet for extended periods, and performing strenuous outdoor work in a variety of weather conditions
PREFERRED ASSETS
- Experience working on high-end residential or detailed landscape properties
- Knowledge of common landscape pests, diseases, and treatment considerations
- Experience with garden enhancements, seasonal colour installations, and property beautification
- Confidence in identifying opportunities for landscape improvements and making practical recommendations
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- All activities occur within our office and assigned sites
- A respectful, stable, and supportive environment will be maintained to enable consistent care delivery.
