Home Support Worker Job

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Support Worker to provide personal care and assistance to a child in a private household in Vancouver, British Columbia. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to deliver quality care in a respectful and professional manner.

Responsibilities & Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing day-to-day support, companionship, and assistance with personal and household needs, including but not limited to:
Administering medications as prescribed
Assisting clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene
Feeding or assisting in feeding
Preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks
Performing light housekeeping and cleaning duties
Mending clothing and linens as needed
Shopping for food and household supplies
Providing companionship and emotional support
Cooking simple and balanced meals as per dietary needs

Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.

Experience:
Minimum of 1 to less than 7 months of relevant caregiving or home support experience.
Prior experience caring for seniors, persons with disabilities, or clients with limited mobility will be an asset.

Certificates / Licences:
CPR and First Aid Certification (mandatory).
Additional caregiving or healthcare-related training will be considered an asset.

Language:
Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Other Requirements:
Must be physically capable of performing the duties of the position, including assisting with mobility and light lifting.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and treat clients with dignity and respect.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Flexible and willing to work varied hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends if needed.
