Home Support Worker (Senior Care)

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Home Support Worker (Senior Care) to provide care and assistance to an 84-year-old senior. The successful candidate will assist with personal care, daily living activities, and light household duties to help maintain a safe and comfortable living environment.

5.Hours: 30 hours per week
6.Wage: $24.5 per hour. Overtime pay as applicable under provincial employment standards

Responsibilities:
1.Provide assistance with personal care and daily living activities, and assist with mobility and transfers.
2.Provide companionship and emotional support.
3.Prepare and serve nutritious meals according to dietary needs.
4.Perform light housekeeping duties including laundry, cleaning, and maintaining a safe living environment.
5.Administer medication assist with medication reminders and ensure timely intake.
6.Monitor and record the senior’s health status and report concerns promptly.
7.Accompany to medical appointments or social activities as required.
8.Observe and report any changes in physical or emotional condition to family members.

Qualifications:
1.Secondary school completion is required.
2.Fluency in English.
3.Previous experience in caregiving or home support is an asset.
4.First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.
5.Certified Caregiver with professional training is an asset.
6.Proficiency in cooking and maintaining a clean environment.
7.Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
8.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient and empathetic demeanor.
