is in need of Hog Farm Labourer
NOC: 85100
EMPLOYMENT TERMS: Full Time - Permanent
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Handle and move hogs, including weaning, sorting, and transferring animals.
2. Feed and provide water to livestock and monitor their condition.
3. Administer vaccines and medications to sows and piglets as directed.
4. Monitor animals for signs of illness or injury and provide basic treatment as needed.
5. Assist with breeding sows and monitor their condition during pregnancy.
6. Monitor farrowing and assist sows during the birthing process when required.
7. Process piglets, including assisting in administering injections, castrating, and tail docking.
8. Clean and pressure-wash livestock pens, barns, and equipment.
9. Monitor barn temperature, ventilation, airflow, and water systems.
10. Follow farm safety, animal welfare, and biosecurity procedures.
11. Perform general farm maintenance and other duties as required.
WORKING HOURS: 8-9 hours/day, 40-50 hours/week; normal workday shall begin at 7:00am until 4:00pm; work schedule may vary based on the day of the week and the time of the year. Certain tasks are necessary to be completed before the workday is done; 1-2 varied days off per week
WAGE: $17.95/hour

1. Education: No specific education is required
2. Work Experience: Previous experience is an asset but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.
