Wage: $62,430-$114,500 annually (wage is set by district guidelines according to experience with step level increases annually)
Hours: 30 minimum per week

Vacation Pay: Paid vacation-2 weeks winter and spring break and 10 weeks summer break

Position Summary
We are currently seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Math and Chemistry Teacher to join our dedicated teaching staff. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to inspire students to develop a strong foundation in mathematics and chemistry, using engaging, hands-on method and aligning with the BC curriculum standards. The teacher will be responsible for fostering academic curiosity, critical thinking and a deep understanding of both subjects.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans in mathematics and chemistry for secondary students, utilizing effective instructional strategies
• Prepare assignments, assignments and projects to evaluate student performance.
• Foster a positive, inclusive and respectful classroom environment
• Monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and personalized support
• Adapt lessons and instructional materials to accommodate diverse learning needs.
• Integrate technology into the teaching of math and chemistry to enhance student learning.
• Supervise and evaluate student work, including homework, tests and projects.
• Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development activities
• Maintain accurate student records and ensure compliance with educational regulations
• Performing other related duties as directed by the Head of School

o A Bachelor’s degree in Education with a with a focus on Mathematics, Chemistry or a related field.
o A Master’s degree in Education, Science or a related field is an asset
• Certification:
o Must be certified or eligible for certification with the British Columbia Teacher Regulation Branch (TRB)
• Experience:
o Previous teaching experience at the secondary level is considered an asset
o Familiarity with curriculum development and classroom technology integration is preferred
