Job Duties:
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance work on equipment such as forklifts, loaders, clam loaders, pickup trucks, and other related equipment.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical problems/breakdowns affecting the company's mobile equipment and take the necessary measures to promptly correct the situation or recommend corrective measures.
• Perform welding and maintenance work on equipment.
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective components, or systems, using hand and power tools.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications.
• Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment.
Skills Required:
• Thoroughness, patience, initiative, sense of responsibility, autonomy.
• Good spatial perception, manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination.
• Time management, speed of execution, sense of urgency, and concern for health/safety issues.
• Familiarity with hydraulic, electrical and engines.
Experience Required:
• 3 to 5 years of mechanical work experience.
Education Required:
• A post-secondary (college) diploma in Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanics or equivalent experience.
Wage & Hours: $ 41.43 per hour as per CBA
• Number of hours per day: 12
• Number of days per week: 7 on / 7 off schedule
• Number of hours per week: 36-48 (84 bi-weekly)
• Overtime starts after how many hours: 40 hours per week and all hours worked on Sunday as per CBA
• Shift rotation: 7/7 rotation: days (commence on Wednesday's, complete on Tuesday's)
