As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will assist in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a fleet of heavy equipment, trucks, and light vehicles used in paving operations. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced outdoor environment and is eager to learn from experienced journeymen.
Job Duties:
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on paving and heavy equipment.
• Assist with diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Maintain accurate service records and reports.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed in the shop and on-site.
• Work closely with senior mechanics and operations team.
Skills Required:
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Experience working with construction or paving equipment is a strong asset.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends during peak season.
• Must be able to obtain Driver’s license.
• Must be able to obtain Trade Certification.
Experience Required:
• 3-5 years of experience.
Education Required:
• High School diploma or equivalent experience.
Wage & Hours: $ 40.00/h
• Number of hours per day: 9 (from 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday)
• Number of days per week: 5
• Number of hours per week: 45
• Overtime starts after how many hours: 8 hours per day and 44 hours per week.
• Shift rotation (as applicable): weekends as needed.
