We are looking for a hands-on Heavy-Duty Construction Mechanic who can both repair and operate equipment as part of day-to-day operations. This role suits someone who understands machines because they’ve run them, fixed them, and worked around them.

This is a practical, all-rounder position with minimal supervision, requiring a self-motivated individual who can manage their own workload. The successful candidate will be trusted to identify problems, plan repairs, operate equipment for testing and site support, and see jobs through from start to finish without being
micromanaged. The role involves a mix of mechanical work, equipment operation, field support, and general site tasks, so flexibility and a hands-on attitude are essential.

5. Carry out routine servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance
6. Test and operate equipment after repairs to ensure safe and correct operation
7. Respond to breakdowns and perform field repairs when required
8. Identify potential issues early and prevent unnecessary downtime
9. Keep basic service and maintenance records
10. Plan daily tasks independently and prioritize work without supervision
11. Safely operate service vehicles and transport equipment when needed
12. Keep tools, workshop, and work areas clean and functional
13. Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
14. Be flexible with working hours when jobs take longer than expected

Work Environment:
1. Workshop, yard, and active job site environments
2. Exposure to weather, dust, grease, and noise
3. Hands-on, practical work with minimal supervision

Key Skills:
Strong mechanical and operational understanding of heavy equipment
2. Confident operating equipment safely and efficiently
3. Able to work independently without close supervision
4. Practical, solution-focused mindset
5. Reliable, responsible, and safety-conscious

7. Flexible attitude — willing to help where needed
8. Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.

Qualifications and Experience:

Experience:
2. 3–5+ years hands-on experience as a heavy-duty construction
mechanic/operator
3. Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers,
