Job Duties:
• Operate heavy equipment (Asphalt Screed, Paver, Grader, Skidder, Asphalt roller)
• Operate computer-controlled equipment
• Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks
• Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment
• Secure special attachments to equipment
• Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment
• Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment
• Perform minor repairs to equipment
• Monitor safety conditions
Skills Required:
• Able to work outdoors, in a dusty and noisy environment, close to buildings, utilities, moving equipment and public traffic.
• Able to work in asphalt finishing, fine and rough grading area
• Physically demanding, handling heavy loads (up to 50 lbs/23 kg)
• Attention to detail, fast-paced environment, team Player
• Willing to travel regularly
• Willing to work overtime when required
• Able to pass pre-access drug and alcohol screening
• Will require steel-toed safety boots
Experience Required:
• 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent training.
Education Required:
• Some secondary school or equivalent experience.
Wage & Hours: $35.40/ h
• Number of hours per day: 8-12
• Number of days per week: 5-6
• Number of hours per week: 40-60 hours per week (weather dependent)
• Overtime starts after how many hours: 8 hours per day and 44 hours per week
• Shift rotation: day, night, weekend shifts are possible.
