Tasks:
- Installing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ventilation systems, for both residential and commercial clients.
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in HVAC systems, using specialized tools and testing equipment to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Conducting regular maintenance checks, cleaning components, and replacing worn or faulty parts to ensure optimal system performance and prevent potential breakdowns.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, technical diagrams, and HVAC specifications to accurately complete installations and repairs according to client needs and industry standards.
- Ensuring all installations and repairs are compliant with safety and building codes, following company protocols and regulatory guidelines to uphold a safe work environment.
- Providing clear and detailed explanations to clients regarding their HVAC system's condition, recommended maintenance practices, and any repairs performed, enhancing customer understanding and satisfaction.
- Managing and documenting inventory for parts and equipment, coordinating with the procurement team to ensure availability of necessary tools and components.
- Keeping detailed service records, documenting work performed, parts used, and system conditions to maintain an accurate history for future reference and follow-ups.
- Collaborating with other team members, including electricians and project managers, to coordinate HVAC installations and repairs within larger projects, ensuring smooth project completion.
- Adhering to strict health and safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe handling of refrigerants, and following lockout/tagout procedures when working with electrical components.
- Testing newly installed or repaired HVAC systems to confirm that they are functioning correctly, adjusting controls and thermostats as needed to ensure proper performance.
- Recommending energy-efficient solutions and system upgrades to clients to help them reduce energy consumption and optimize the functionality of their HVAC systems.
- Troubleshooting complex HVAC system issues, using advanced diagnostic tools and knowledge to solve persistent or recurring problems and ensure long-term system reliability.
- Participating in continuous training and development programs to stay current with advancements in HVAC technology, tools, and industry best practices.
- Coordinating with suppliers for specialized parts and staying updated on industry advancements to source the best tools and technologies.
- Preparing job estimates for HVAC installations and repairs, calculating labor, parts, and materials required, and providing accurate cost information to clients.
- Performing ductwork inspections, cleaning, and repairs to ensure optimal air quality and efficient system operation, especially in larger commercial installations.
