Responsibilities
- Operate all heat treat furnaces and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of heat treatments.
- Follow work instructions, standard operating procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Communicate production or equipment issues verbally or in writing to supervisors and team members, including cross-shift operators.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Perform basic routine machine maintenance as trained.
- Assist with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing efforts as skills develop.
- Memorize and execute emergency containment and or shutdown procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Heat treating experience and knowledgeable of materials and heat treating methods.
- Extreme safety conscious and timely reporting of needs and issues.
- Technical school courses, mechanical hobbies, or similar experience are a plus.
- Strong mechanical or technical aptitude; enjoys working with tools and equipment.
- Willingness to learn and follow detailed instructions.
- Basic math skills (fractions, decimals, measurements).
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Commitment to quality, safety, and maintaining an orderly workspace.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to wear required PPE (safety glasses, gloves and safety shoes, etc.).
