Job Duties:
Estimate food requirements and costs of food and kitchen supplies.
Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory.
Analyze food and operating costs and assist with controlling kitchen expenses.
Plan menus and ensure food meets established quality standards.
Prepare and cook North Indian, South Indian, vegetarian and tandoor specialties, including, curries, breads, and kebabs.
Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for regular service and special functions.
Create new recipes and develop new menu items.
Demonstrate cooking techniques and proper use of kitchen equipment to cooking staff.
Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff and oversee food preparation and presentation.
Train kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking and safe food-handling procedures.
