Healthians Wellness World is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Hairstylist to join our salon and wellness team in Morden, Manitoba. The successful candidate will provide professional hair-cutting, styling, colouring, shampooing, and hair-treatment services while delivering personalized recommendations based on clients’ needs. The position also involves maintaining a clean and sanitary workstation, handling salon tools and equipment, recommending appropriate hair-care products, and ensuring a welcoming and high-quality client experience.

Responsibilities & Tasks

1. Advise clients on beauty care treatments
2. Analyze hair and scalp condition
3. Book appointments
4. Cut and trim hair according to client's instructions or preferences
5. Provide custom hair and scalp treatment
6. Shampoo, rinse, condition, and prepare clients’ hair before and after styling services.
7. Provide other hair treatment, such as waving, straightening and tinting and also provide scalp conditioning massages
8. Supervise other hair stylists and other staff
9. Supervise apprentices/students in training
10. Apply bleach, tints, dyes or rinses to colour, frost or streak hair
11. Apply hair extensions
12. Cut, trim, layer, taper, curl, wave, straighten, perm, and style hair according to clients’ instructions and preferences.
13. Suggest hair style compatible with client's physical features and preferences
14. Perform receptionist duties
15. Maintain and order supplies
16. Examine clients’ hair and scalp conditions and provide basic advice regarding appropriate hair-care and scalp-care treatments
17. Provide blow-drying, styling, and finishing services for everyday, formal, and special-event hairstyles
18. Maintain clean and sanitary workstations, tools, equipment, and salon areas in accordance with applicable health and safety standards
19. Maintain client service records, schedule appointments, and assist with inventory control and ordering of hairstyling supplies when required
20. Provide professional customer service, explain after-care instructions, and advise clients on maintaining their hairstyle and hair health between appointments
21. Provide blow-drying, styling, and finishing services for everyday, formal, and special-event hairstyles
