Hairstylist (Hair Village) Job

Job Details
Location: 4341 North Road, #202, Burnaby, BC V3N 4N3
Hourly Rate: $23.00 to $38.00 per hour (Wage determined based on experience and qualifications; higher wage levels apply for candidates with more extensive experience)
Vacancies: 1
Terms of Employment: Permanent employment, Full time (30–40 hours per week)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Work Setting: Hairstyling salon
Benefit: 4 percent of total wages for vacation pay

Job Requirements
Languages: English
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Minimum 2 years of directly related experience as a hairstylist is required
Physical Capabilities: Standing for extended periods

Job Duties
• Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm, and style hair as requested
• Shampoo and rinse clients’ hair
• Apply bleach, tints, dyes, or rinses to color, frost, or highlight hair
• Provide customized hair and scalp treatments
• Perform additional hair services such as waving, straightening, tinting, and scalp conditioning massages
• Advise clients on appropriate beauty care and hair treatment options
• Recommend hairstyles that complement clients’ physical features and personal preferences
• Assess hair and scalp conditions to determine suitable treatments
• Apply and style hair extensions
• Schedule and manage client appointments
• Supervise hairstylists and other salon staff
