Job Duties:
• Work closely with clients to define the overall concept, appearance, graphic components, and content of communication materials to fulfill their requirements and marketing needs.
• Identify the best medium to achieve the desired visual effect and the most suitable communication channel.
• Create graphic elements that align with the clients' goals and requirements.
• Produce sketches, layouts, and graphic elements utilizing both traditional tools and multi-media tools such as layout, design and image processing software.
• Estimate the cost of materials and determine the timeline to finish graphic design projects.
• Utilize existing photo and illustration libraries and typography guides, or hire illustrators or photographers to create images that meet clients' communication needs.
• Set guidelines for illustrators or photographers if necessary.
• Manage all aspects of production for print, audio-visual, or digital materials, including websites, CDs, and interactive platforms.
• Oversee sub-contracting tasks if necessary.
• Operate within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• May supervise other graphic arts technicians if necessary.
Job Requirements:
• Completion of a college diploma program in graphic arts; or a university degree in visual arts majoring in graphic design, commercial art, cartooning or graphic communications is required
• A portfolio of previous work showcasing graphic design ability and artistic talent is required.
• Experience as an asset
