Geodetic Survey Technicians Job

At this time, we are looking for 5 experienced Geodetic Survey Technicians to join our team, who will study size, shape, and gravitational field of earth employing surveying and geodetic instruments, such as transits, theodolites, and other engineering instruments in setting up and improving network of triangulation over earth’s surface, in order to provide fixed points for use in making maps; establish benchmarks; perform gravimetric surveying to determine variations in earth’s gravitational field, and provide various geodetic data.
The successful candidates will perform the following duties:
• Confirm exact locations;
• Collect and record geographic information about specific pieces of land with electronic tools such as GPS (Geographic Positioning System), theodolite, transits;
• Mark boundaries and routes with stakes and rods;
• Calculate angles to plot slope and other features;
• Prepare drawings, charts, maps, plans, records, and documents;
• Organize records, measurements, and other survey information;
• Research existing information about various pieces of land;
• Clear brush and debris from line of survey;
• Transport surveying and geodetic tools.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
• Permanent, full-time position;
• CAD 41 per hour;
• 30 hours of work per week;
• Overtime pay (CAD 52.50/ hour) applies after 44 hours of work per week;

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Geodetic Survey Technician;
• Must have a secondary school diploma;
• Must be able to work outdoors and walk long distances in changing weather conditions;
• Ability to work with surveying and geodetic instruments, such as transits, theodolites, and others;
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Database Management software;
• Attention to detail;
• Ability to work under pressure;
• Work in a fast-paced environment;
• Good command of English.
