- Set the overall goals and direction of the travel centre, including the retail store, gas station, restaurant, car wash and guest-room accommodation operations.
- Approve company policies, operating plans and service standards for all departments.
- Decide how staff, money, equipment and supplies will be used across the different departments.
- Organize the company’s departments and decide what management and supervisory positions are needed.
- Direct and review the work of the managers or supervisors responsible for each department.
- Hire and evaluate department managers and supervisors, give them the authority needed to perform their duties and provide them with proper working conditions.
- Approve departmental budgets, major expenses, staffing plans and other important business decisions.
- Set financial and administrative controls and review sales, expenses, room occupancy, staffing and performance reports.
- Approve marketing, promotional and customer-service programs for the travel centre.
- Direct and evaluate the guest-room accommodation operations through the responsible department supervisor, including booking, occupancy, cleanliness, maintenance and guest-service standards.
- Review the performance of each department and approve changes needed to improve service, safety, efficiency and profitability.
- Approve company-wide procedures for customer service, health and safety, staffing, room bookings and daily operations.
- Represent the company in meetings and negotiations with suppliers, contractors, banks, government departments and other organizations.
- Approve major supplier agreements, service contracts, equipment purchases, renovations, repairs and maintenance projects.

Education:
College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
