is in need of General Farm Worker (Hog Farm)
NOC: 85100
EMPLOYMENT TERMS: Full Time - Permanent
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Working in all areas of the hog barn.
2. Involved in all aspects of livestock feeding, bedding and detection of sick animals.
3. Provide water for animals and perform routine maintenance on water drinkers.
4. Monitor and maintain proper ventilation and temperatures using automated control system.
5. Assist in the maintenance of the barn and facilities.
6. Operate a high pressure washer and ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards for the Unit are met.
7. Follow safe manure management procedure when cleaning out manure pits.
8. Operate and assist in the maintenance of farm machinery and equipment.
9. Ensure the Unit's bio security protocol and Animal Welfare Codes of Practice is followed.
10. Perform other related farm duties as required.
WORKING HOURS: 8 hours/day, 48 hours/week; 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, working hours may vary depending on stage of production/operational requirement; 12 days on, 2 days off
WAGE / BENEFITS: $17.60/hour; Disability, Dental, Extended Medical Insurance (after 3-months of employment)

1. Education: Some secondary education is required.
2. Work Experience: Previous farm experience would be an asset but not required; On-the-job training will be provided.
