General Farm Worker - Harvesting Job

JOB DESCRIPTION:

~Harvesting crops using hand tools, such as knives, carrot seeder, or pruners, or operating machinery, such as harvesters.
~ Providing nurturing agriculture crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying.
~ Working cooperatively with other farm workers and supervisors to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively, especially during busy harvest seasons.
~ Assisting with other general farm duties as required, such as cleaning and maintaining farmland, equipment and tools utilized
~ Clean up racks, trays, and general clean-up of growing, producing, and packing areas.
~ Assisting with field maintenance tasks, including irrigation, weeding, and fertilizing, to ensure optimal crop growth and health.
~ Sorting, grading, and packing harvested crops into containers for storage or shipment, following specific guidelines and quality standards.
~ Place crops in a basket and then line them with protective wrapping, where required
~Load, unload, and transfer crates, supplies, farm produce and products for transport.
~Monitoring crops for signs of pests, diseases, or other issues and implementing pest control measures as directed by the farm supervisor
~ Assist the Farm Supervisor in ensuring crop quality and make it ready for sale.
~ Sorting, grading, and packing harvested crops into containers for storage, processing, or shipment, following specific instructions and quality standards.
