Job Title: General Farm Worker - Compost (NOC 85101)
Terms of Employment: 30-40 hours per week, Full-time/Permanent
Start Date: As soon as possible
Wage: $18.85-21.85 per hour (Depending on experience)

Job Description:
• Prepare mushroom compost materials according to specific formulas and protocols, which may include weighing, mixing, and hydrating various ingredients (e.g., sawdust, grains, supplements).
• Operate mushroom compost processing equipment, such as mixers, pasteuriz-ers/sterilizers, and filling machines.
• Monitor mushroom compost preparation processes to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to specifications.
• Maintain accurate records of mushroom compost batches, ingredients, and processing parameters.
• Package and store prepared mushroom compost in appropriate containers under speci-fied conditions.
• Transport mushroom compost materials within the facility using manual or mechanical equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts, telehanders).
• Assist with the cleaning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mushroom compost pro-cessing equipment.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines, including the proper use of personal pro-tective equipment (PPE).
• Follow strict hygiene and sanitation procedures to prevent contamination of substrates.
• May assist with inventory management of mushroom compost materials and supplies.
SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
Education: No formal education required.
Experience: No formal experience required; successful candidates will be trained in job duties.
Language: No formal language requirement.
Work Conditions:
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work long hours with repetitive tasks.
• Ability to work in varied (cold, damp, dusty) and controlled (specific temperature and humidity) conditions.
• Ability to handle heavy workloads, which can be physically demanding, including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to distinguish between colors, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity.
