Dreamline Drywall Ltd., a commercial construction and development company, is seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer to support ongoing and upcoming projects in Calgary, Alberta.
Job Details:
• Location: Calgary, AB
• Workplace: On-site
• Position Type: Permanent, Full-time
• Hours: 30 to 35 hours per week
• Wage: $52.88 per hour
• Start Date: As soon as possible
Job Duties:
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for mechanical and electrical building systems in commercial construction projects.
• Prepare engineering designs, drawings and specifications for HVAC, ventilation and other mechanical systems.
• Coordinate M&E design with architects, structural engineers and contractors to ensure integration with overall building plans.
• Review M&E shop drawings, calculations and technical submissions to ensure compliance with engineering standards and project specifications.
• Prepare material specifications, cost estimates and engineering reports for mechanical and electrical systems.
• Supervise and inspect installation of mechanical systems to ensure compliance with approved designs, building codes and safety regulations.
• Evaluate contractor tenders, prepare contract documentation and provide technical recommendations for M&E works.
• Provide technical guidance to technicians, technologists and project teams and review engineering designs and calculations.
• Monitor system performance, identify design improvements and recommend modifications where required.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field
• Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in mechanical system design and commercial construction projects
• Experience with HVAC systems and M&E coordination
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office
• Strong understanding of building codes and engineering standards
