Full-Stack Web Application Developer Job

Position Summary

The Full-Stack Web Application Developer will be responsible for developing, integrating, testing and maintaining RETVE’s web application.

The developer will convert approved UI/UX designs into functional platform features and establish the technical foundation required for user accounts, employment tools, resume development, application tracking, resource directories and future integrations.

The position will work closely with the UI/UX and Web Designer, management team and external technical advisors where specialized support is required.

Key Responsibilities

- Review RETVE’s Application Design Brief, existing prototype and technical requirements.
- Recommend and document an appropriate application architecture and technology stack.
- Develop front-end interfaces based on approved UI/UX designs.
- Develop and maintain back-end application functions and business logic.
- Establish and manage the application database.
- Develop user-registration, login, authentication and account-management functions.
- Implement user profiles and appropriate role-based access controls.
- Develop the core employment-module functionality.
- Support the implementation of military-to-civilian skills-translation workflows.
- Develop resume-building, editing and document-management functions.
- Implement job-search, filtering and job-application tracking functions.
- Develop dashboard notifications, activity summaries and user preferences.
- Prepare the technical foundation for future housing, government-services and social-support modules.
- Develop or configure APIs required for communication between application components.
- Assess future integration requirements with external services and data providers.
- Apply appropriate security practices, including secure data transmission, authentication controls and protection against common web vulnerabilities.
- Establish data-backup, recovery and error-logging procedures.
- Write clean, maintainable and documented code.
- Conduct unit, integration and functional testing.
- Identify, document and correct technical defects.
- Collaborate with the UI/UX designer to resolve implementation and usability issues.
- Support deployment to an appropriate testing or cloud-hosting environment.
- Monitor application performance and recommend improvements.
- Maintain technical documentation, configuration records and version history.
- Ensure that source code, repositories, hosting accounts and administrative credentials remain under RETVE’s control.
- Support future technical handover, maintenance and expansion of the platform.

Education and Experience

- A bachelor’s degree or diploma in computer science, software engineering, web development, information technology or a related field.
- Practical experience developing full-stack web applications.
- Experience with front-end and back-end development.
- Experience working with databases, APIs and authentication systems.
- Experience deploying and maintaining web applications.
- Demonstrated ability to test, troubleshoot and correct software issues.

- Experience implementing analytics and application-performance monitoring.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity testing and incident-response practices.
- Experience preparing software for future scaling and third-party integrations.
