The Role

As a Client Development Broker at Hello Hotshot, your entire job is to grow our shipper base. No dispatching. No carrier calls. No load tracking. Our operations team handles all of that. You focus on identifying businesses that need fast, reliable freight solutions for smaller loads and turning them into long-term Hello Hotshot clients.
Because our business is built around freight that originates in Texas, we strongly prefer candidates who currently reside in the state and are familiar with its key freight corridors and industries.

What You'll Do
Prospect and develop relationships with Texas-based companies that ship freight under 15,000 lbs
Target shippers in niche markets — oilfield supply, construction materials, manufacturing, industrial equipment, and more — where hotshot freight is a daily need
Conduct outbound outreach via cold calls, email, LinkedIn, and in-person networking
Present Hello Hotshot's specialized hotshot and LTL freight solutions to decision-makers
Negotiate rates and close service agreements with new shipping clients
Manage and grow your book of business through consistent follow-up and relationship-building
Transition new accounts seamlessly to our operations team, who handle carrier coverage and execution
Track pipeline activity and report on prospecting and close metrics
What We Handle — So You Don't Have To
Our operations team takes full ownership of the carrier side, including:
Carrier sourcing and vetting for hotshot and LTL loads
Load coverage, dispatch, and driver coordination
Real-time tracking and tracing
Claims, issues, and carrier communications
Your focus is entirely on the client relationship. We handle the rest.

What We're Looking For
Required
1–2+ years of experience in freight brokerage, transportation sales, or a related B2B sales role
Proven ability to prospect, develop, and close new shipping accounts
Confidence and persistence in outbound sales environments
Strong communication skills — on the phone, in person, and in writing
Preferred
Current Texas resident with knowledge of the state's freight markets and major shipping corridors
Existing relationships with Texas-based shippers in oilfield, construction, agriculture, or manufacturing
Familiarity with hotshot, flatbed, or LTL freight and the types of shippers who rely on them
Experience with a TMS platform and/or CRM tools
An active or portable book of business you're ready to develop further
