Title of Position: Framer (Carpenter)

Terms of employment: Full time; Permanent Position; 30-40 hours per week (morning, day, and weekend work may be required).

Wage: $32.12/hour

• Overtime and vacation pay provided in accordance with Alberta employment standards.

Duties:

• Interpret architectural drawings and construction plans to determine dimensions, materials, and framing layout for residential building projects.
• Measure and cut lumber and other materials, then assemble and install framing components used in floors, walls, and roof structures.
• Construct and position structural frameworks including wall studs, floor joists, roof trusses, and beams for new home construction.
• Secure and align sheathing, sub flooring, and other structural materials to ensure stability and proper support of building components.
• Operate a variety of carpentry hand tools and power tools such as circular saws, nail guns, drills, and measuring equipment.
• Verify that framing work is level, square, and built according to project plans, construction standards, and local building regulations.
• Work closely with site supervisors and other trades to complete framing tasks safely, maintain an organized work area, and meet project timelines.

Language: English

Level of Education: High school education preferred but not required.

Work Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of relevant work experience.

Location of work: Various residential construction sites in Calgary, Alberta and surrounding areas.
