Forward Deployed Engineer Job

The Role:

Join a builder-focused team solving real problems in one of the least automated industries in the economy. You'll embed directly with customers — sitting alongside bank underwriters, lenders, and operators — to understand their workflows deeply, then build software that transforms how they work.

This isn't consulting. What you learn in the field shapes the product itself — you help decide what's worth building, not just deliver requirements.

Hiring Across Levels:

Forward Deployed Engineer (0–3 yrs): early-career builders who've shipped real software and want to grow fast in a customer-facing role

Senior FDE / Tech Lead (3–5+ yrs): owns architecture, thrives in ambiguity, leads the most complex deployments

What You'll Do (~70% building, 30% embedded with customers)

Embed on-site with bank teams to learn workflows and pain points firsthand

Build and deploy AI-powered systems that replace manual processes

Extend the platform into new use cases; help migrate customers off legacy systems

Own projects end-to-end — from problem definition to deployment and iteration
Feed field learnings back into product direction

Tech Stack:

TypeScript, React, Next.js (must-have); Postgres/Prisma, Python, AWS (pick up quickly)

Requirements:

0–5 years in full-stack/product/forward-deployed engineering, with 0-to-1 or 0-to-5 building experience (founder, early startup engineer, or shipped hackathon project with real users)

Direct customer-facing technical work — discovering pain points and building solutions, not just support/config

Plus: FDE experience at Palantir or similar; ex-founder or early employee (1–20) at a startup; top CS program or evidence of early excellence

CS degree required for 0–3 YOE candidates; seniors can substitute demonstrated projects/experience

Strong systems design skills and familiarity with AI frameworks (LangChain, Vercel AI SDK, etc.)

Willing t o travel 3-4 days out of the month
