We are seeking a motivated and hardworking Forger Helper to join our team. This role involves assisting skilled metalworkers in various tasks, including cleaning, transporting materials, and preparing metal products for further processing. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, reliable, and eager to learn the trade.
Responsibilities:
• Metal Cleaning: Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale, and other materials from metal surfaces.
• Material Transport: Use powered equipment to transport items throughout the plant, as well as manually moving raw materials, finished products, and equipment.
• Metal Immersion: Immerse metal products in cleaning solutions as part of the preparation process.
• Assistance: Assist structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, metal machine operators, and other metalworkers in their tasks.
• Sorting: Sort metal sheets, parts, scrap metal, and other materials for processing or disposal.
• Metal Finishing: Grind or chip excess metal from metal products using hand tools, and polish metal products to achieve a mirror finish.
• Work Area Maintenance: Clean machines and immediate work areas to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
• Loading & Unloading: Load and unload vehicles, ensuring safe and proper handling of materials.
• Work Order Interpretation: Read and interpret work orders to determine job requirements and specifications
