Job Description:
The Forest Product Processing Supervisor role is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and scheduling the daily operations of facility workers who process various lumber products.
Some of the Responsities include:
- Recommend measures to improve productivity
- Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
- Ensure that systems and equipment are operating efficiently and that proper maintenance and repairs are performed
- Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions
- Establish work schedules
- Prepare production and other reports
- Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
- Set up machines and equipment
- Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule (and possibly review) activities of workers
- Monitor safety conditions
- Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies
- Train staff/workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies
- Oversee safety of operations

Lumber graders and other wood processing inspectors and graders
Other wood processing machine operators
Sawmill machine operators
Credentials
Certificates, licences
- Lumber Grader Certificate (prefered) or familiar with identifying various grades and species
- Industrial First Aid Certificate (preferred)

- Own transportation
