POSITION SUMMARY:

The Food Store Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily activities of cashiers, food counter staff, deli staff, shelf stockers, clerks, and other retail food market employees. This role supports the smooth operation of the retail food market by assigning duties, preparing work schedules, assisting customers, monitoring inventory, and ensuring that shelves, displays, food products, and service areas are properly maintained and organized. The Food Store Supervisor also helps train staff, address customer concerns, support merchandising standards, and perform opening, closing, cash handling, and other key-holder duties when required.
Job Requirements:
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of cashiers, food counter staff, deli staff, and food market employees.
• Assign work duties and prepare employee shift schedules.
• Assist customers with inquiries, special orders, and product-related concerns.
• Handle customer complaints, payment issues, refunds, and merchandise returns.
• Monitor inventory levels and place orders for food products, supplies, and merchandise.
• Ensure shelves, displays, food counters, and retail areas are clean, stocked, and properly organized.
• Train new staff on store procedures, customer service standards, and food handling practices.
• Monitor employee performance and report staffing concerns to management.
• Assist with receiving deliveries, stocking products, and rotating merchandise.
• Perform opening and closing duties, including cash handling and securing the store when required.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Experience: At least 1 year of relevant retail food or supervisory experience
• Education: Completion of a college or other non-university certificate or diploma program
• Languages: Proficiency in English
