Job Summary

Looking for an organized and compassionate Food Program Coordinator to manage and deliver our food support services. This role coordinates food distribution, oversees inventory and food safety practices, supports volunteers, and works with partners to increase community access to nutritious food.
Job Requirements:
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate daily food program operations, including client service, scheduling, and distribution activities.

Plan and support food distribution events (e.g., hampers, pantry, community meals, deliveries).

Manage food inventory: receiving, sorting, storage, rotation, tracking, and reducing waste.

Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards; maintain clean and safe program spaces.

Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise volunteers; provide guidance and ongoing support.

Maintain accurate program records and basic reporting (clients served, food quantities, outcomes).

Build and maintain relationships with donors, suppliers, and community partners.

Support program improvement by gathering feedback and helping implement enhancements.

Qualifications

Diploma or degree in Social Services, Community Development, Nutrition, Public Health, Non-Profit Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).

1–3 years of experience in program coordination, food programs, community services, or non-profit operations.

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.

Experience working with volunteers and serving diverse communities.

Knowledge of food safety practices; Food Handler certification preferred or required within a set timeframe.

Comfortable using basic technology for scheduling and reporting (Microsoft Office/Google Workspace; databases an asset).

Strong communication and teamwork skills; client-centered and culturally aware approach.

Valid driver’s license and ability to lift moderate loads may be required depending on program needs.
