We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Floor Covering Installer to join our team. The successful candidate will install and repair various types of floor coverings, including carpet, hardwood, laminate, vinyl, and resilient flooring, while ensuring high-quality workmanship and compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate should have experience measuring, cutting, fitting, and finishing flooring materials and be able to work independently and efficiently on residential and commercial projects.
Job Description:
• Performs inspections
• Clear the work surface from dust, debris, and obstructions
• Apply skim coat
• Measure, cut and install resilient floor covering using adhesive, rollers and other hand tools
• Install hardwood floors, such as strip floors, block floors or plank floors, using glue, staples,
• nails or other means
• Complete the installation by applying appropriate finishes
• Install sheet vinyl goods and seam the sheet vinyl with heat welding
• Install herringbone style glue down hardwood and vinyl plank goods
• Install flash coving vinyl and seam with heat welding
• Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings
• Prep the floor surface by grinding, sanding or applying skim coat to make the surface smooth for best result
• Install carpet tiles with adhesive in multiple patterns such as monolithic, ashlar, quarter turn and herringbone.
• Install rubber cove base and millwork rubber base
• Prep the floor surface by grinding, sanding or applying skim coat to make the surface smooth for best result
Qualifications:
• Completion of secondary school-High School Diploma
• 2-3 years of prior experience as a flooring installer
• Capable of independent and group work
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and troubleshooting abilities
• Language: English
