Installer Supervisor who will supervise the entire installation process while
ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.

Job Title: Floor Covering Installer Supervisor
Wage: $36.60 to $37.60 per hour (Depending on working experience)
Working Hours: 30 hours per week (Available early morning, daytime,
evenings or weekends)
Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent
Starting Date of Employment: As Soon As Possible
Position Available: 1
Benefit: 4% Vacation Pay or 10 Business Days of Paid Vacation
Working Location:
•7979 11th Avenue, Burnaby BC V3N 2N5 (Our Business Location)
•Will be working at various residential / commercial locations (client’s
locations) within Metro Vancouver area, British Columbia

Responsibilities:
•Supervise and coordinate the work of Floor Covering Installers to ensure
adherence to quality and safety standards, provide on-site training,
guidance, analyze job performance.
•Inspect, measure and mark floor surfaces to prepare for installation,
communicate with clients to ensure smooth workflow, resolve any issues
that may arise during the course of the project.
•Remove old floor coverings and clean surfaces to ensure proper adhesion
as needed, and measure, cut and fasten underlay and underpadding to
surfaces;
•Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings to restore functionality and
appearance;
•Measure, cut, and install carpeting using hand or tools such as machine
stitchers, seaming irons, bonding tape, or other adhesives;
•Position and stretch carpeting using specialized tools like a knee-kicker or
power stretcher, and secure it to the floor or surfaces with staple gun or
other devices;
•Install hardwood flooring including strip, block, or plank styles by using
blue, nails, staples, or other fastening methods;
•Install resilient floor coverings by accurately measuring, cutting, and
securing them with adhesives, rollers, and other installation tools;
•Prepare cost estimates for materials and labour, and plan and schedule
flooring projects to meet quality and timeline expectations.

Qualifications:
•Completion of secondary school is usually required;
•Completion of a two- to three-year apprenticeship program or over four
years of work experience in the trade and some courses in floor covering
installation are usually required to be eligible for trade certification;
•Trade certification for floor covering installers is not mandatory in British
Columbia; however it would be a good asset;
•Red Seal endorsement is available to qualified floor covering installers upon
successful completion of the interprovincial Red Seal examination, but is not
mandatory;
•Since this is a supervisory position, at least 2 years of work experience in
floor covering installation is required;
•Available early morning, daytime, evenings or weekends;
•A driver’s license would be a good asset but not a mandatory requirement;
•Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills;
•Working knowledge of English.
