Job Responsibilities:

• Measure and mark out areas of flooring for cuts, transitions, and installations.
• Preparing the work surface by applying adhesive and other appropriate materials.
• Use various tools and equipment needed for flooring installation, including knee-kickers, power stretchers, and other specialized tools.
• Install flooring materials in residential and commercial spaces, such as hard-surface floors, including resilient and carpet flooring, using glue, staples, and nails.
• Prepare the floor by cutting and installing underlay or padding.
• Trim, shape, and place carpet, using stitching equipment, heat-bonding tools, seaming iron, bonding tape, and other equipment as required.
• Examine existing & old flooring for damage and perform necessary repairs, replacements, or refinishing.
• Provide estimates for required materials, installation time, and labour costs if required.
• Clear the working surface of dust and debris.
• Ensure that all flooring that you install is well-positioned and secure.

Job Requirements:

• Completion of Secondary School is required.
• Minimum 6 months to 1 year of experience in a similar field is required.

Job Skills:

• Ability to install all types of flooring with minimal supervision.
• Capable of independent and group work.
• Thorough and efficient.
• Physically fit and able to lift large, heavy equipment and materials.
• Good arithmetic skills.
