Tasks
1. Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
2. Address customers' complaints or concerns
3. Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
4. Load and unload goods
5. Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes
6. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
7. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
8. Receive and relay information to central dispatch
9. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
10. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
