Position: Flatbed Truck Driver
Duration/Type: Full Time
Location: 6 Valleyway Dr, Brampton, ON L6X 3C3
Salary: $30.00-$40.00 per hour–The gross salary paid will be subject to all applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions.
Vacation: 4% of the gross salary
Hours of Work: 30-44 Hours a week. Overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week
Position Summary:
The position is responsible for transporting freight, containers, machinery, and equipment safely and efficiently across Canada and the United States, including Alaska routes, using various trailer configurations such as flatbed, step deck, lowboy, B-train, roll-tite. The role requires compliance with transportation regulations, cargo securement standards, and delivery schedules while maintaining high safety and customer service standards.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Operate AZ class tractor-trailers including flatbed, step deck, lowboy, B-train, roll-tite to transport freight, and heavy equipment.
• Transport goods to customer locations, terminals, warehouses, industrial sites, and ports across Canada and the United States, including Alaska routes.
• Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and equipment to ensure safe operating condition.
• Secure loads using chains, straps, binders, tarps, and other approved cargo securement methods in accordance with transportation regulations.
• Apply tarps and protective coverings to loads when required to protect cargo during transportation.
• Ensure compliance with Ministry of Transportation regulations, CVOR requirements, cargo securement standards, border crossing procedures, and workplace safety policies.
• Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, fuel records, mileage records, and delivery documentation.
• Communicate with dispatchers, customers, and warehouse personnel regarding pickup schedules, delivery updates, delays, or route changes.
• Monitor vehicle performance and report mechanical defects, maintenance issues, accidents, or delays promptly.
• Plan routes and manage delivery timelines efficiently while operating in varying weather and road conditions.

• Valid Ontario AZ Driver’s Licence in good standing with a clean CVOR and driver’s abstract
• Minimum 1 year of verifiable AZ driving experience involving flatbed, step deck, lowboy, B-train, roll-tite, container, freight, or intermodal transportation is required.
• Experience securing loads using chains, binders, straps, and tarps in compliance with cargo securement regulations.
• Minimum 1 year of verifiable experience operating container handling equipment such as reach stackers, forklifts, container loaders, or similar heavy machinery.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong understanding of load securement, transportation regulations, safety compliance, and controlled-access site procedures.
• Ability to work independently, meet tight delivery schedules, and work extended hours or overtime when required.
