Job Description:
Piccioni Bros. Mushroom Farm Ltd. is looking for Five (5) Farm Workers to perform the following duties:
• Fill and empty mushroom houses
• Prepare casing material
• Wash and sanitize the mushroom houses and all the equipment necessary to do this
• In the evening, wash and sanitize all equipment, machinery and utensils in the farm to prepare for the next day’s harvest and packaging
• Remove mushroom stumps, garbage and cardboard in the farm
• Operate farm equipment and forklifts, maintain and repair farm equipment
• Operate and maintain box making machinery
• Assist in the maintenance of facilities and farm infrastructure
• Assist in checking and repairing agricultural equipment for proper performance and inspecting equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
• Monitor waterlines, airflow, humidity and temperature
• If necessary, may also help in the other areas of the mushroom farm, i.e. harvesting and packaging.
• If necessary, help deliver and pick up supplies and mushrooms farm products
Work Location:
• Rural area
Terms of Employment:
• Salary: $18.32 per hour; 40-60 hours/ week
• Permanent, Full-Time
• Start date: immediately
• Benefits: Extended health care coverage
Skills Requirements:
• Education: No education requirement; training in farming, such as farm equipment mechanics, agricultural welding, tree pruning and pesticide application an asset
• Experience: relevant experience an asset
