Fitter Helper Job

Job Summary

Position reports to Welding Supervisor and is subordinate to the team leader.
Areas of responsibility include fit/tack of welded sub-components.
Other areas of responsibility may be assigned by Welding Supervisor

Job Duties

 Assist Fitter in fit/tack of welded sub-components per drawings.
• May be called on to fit and tack simple sub-assemblies unassisted.

 Work with Team Leader and Fitter to meet job requirements, quality standards and schedule dates.
• Maintain accurate time sheet.
• Follow quality procedures and standards.

 Ensure organized storage of tools, welding equipment, and supplies. Keep area clean and clear of clutter and hazards.
• Follow Supervisor’s, Team Leader’s, and assigned Fitter’s instructions for staging between Fit/Tack and Welding.
• Notify Team Leader of maintenance needs for equipment.

 Comply with H&S Environmental, Health, and Safety Programs.
• Read, comprehend, and comply with H&S Safety Manual and Employee Handbook.

 Other activities as directed by Welding Supervisor or Team Leader.

Qualifications

 Ability to give, receive and understand oral and written instructions in English.
 Ability to read a tape measure.
 Ability to complete training and operate forklifts, overhead cranes, pneumatic and electric power tools.
 Willingness to cross-train with other product lines.
 Stable employment and attendance history.
