North PR Seafood Ltd is one of the dynamic fishing and processing seafood companies in Prince Rupert, British Columbia. The company’s products vary from different types of crabs to geoducks with catching capability of 680 tons per annum.
The company is looking for a (1) Fisherman/woman on a full-time basis 40 hours per week.
Job Duties:
* Operate a fishing vessel to catch crabs and other seafood products.
* Steer vessel and operate the navigation instrument
* Select area of fishing, use compassed or electronic fishing aids for navigation.
* Maintain and operate fishing nets and supervise crew members.
* Record fishing activities, sea and weather conditions
* Estimate cost and plan the budget for each fishing season
* May prepare the net and trap before the season starts
* May transport the caught products to the processing factory

Requirements:
* Several years (2+) of experience as a Deckhand or Fishing Vessel Crewman/woman is
required
* Marine Emergency Duties certificate is required
* Fishing Vessel Operator Certificate is required
* Commercial fishing license is required
* Physical demanding, handle heavy loads weight up to 50lbs (23 kgs)
* Ability to work under extreme weather conditions and early morning.
* Must be comfortable working at sea.
