Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Financial Manager to oversee and manage the financial operations of our clinic. The successful candidate will play a key role in financial planning, budgeting, compliance, and strategic decision-making to support the clinic’s growth and long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan, direct, and evaluate the financial operations of the clinic, ensuring alignment with healthcare service delivery and business objectives
• Develop and implement financial policies, internal controls, and accounting procedures tailored to a medical clinic environment
• Oversee clinic budgeting, including physician billing, diagnostic services, and operational expenses related to eye-care services
• Manage cash flow, accounts payable/receivable, and revenue cycles, including provincial healthcare billing, private insurance, and patient payments
• Monitor and analyze financial performance of different service lines (e.g., urgent care, diagnostic testing, specialty eye treatments)
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management to support strategic decision-making
• Ensure compliance with Canadian healthcare financial regulations, tax requirements, and reporting standards
• Coordinate financial audits and liaise with external accountants, auditors, and financial institutions
• Oversee payroll administration for clinical and administrative staff, ensuring compliance with employment standards and benefit programs
• Analyze cost structures related to medical equipment, supplies, and clinic operations, and recommend cost-control measures
• Support business expansion initiatives, including evaluating financial feasibility of new services, technologies, or additional clinic locations
• Identify financial risks specific to healthcare operations and implement mitigation strategies
• Supervise and provide guidance to accounting or administrative staff responsible for financial record-keeping
• Collaborate with clinic management to improve operational efficiency and patient service delivery through financial insights

Job Requirements:
• A university degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, financial analysis, or financial management roles
• Demonstrated experience in full-cycle financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash flow management
• Proven experience in developing and implementing financial policies, internal controls, and operational procedures
• Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial compliance requirements
• Experience in managing financial operations within a multi-revenue or service-based environment
• Experience in a healthcare, medical clinic, or other regulated professional environment is preferred
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data and provide strategic recommendations to support business decisions
• Experience overseeing payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting processes
• Strong leadership skills with experience in supervising or guiding administrative or accounting staff
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
